About Gina Teichert

Western artist Gina Teichert with her rattlesnake painting

Gina Teichert paints the myth of the American West with a nod to graphic novels, spaghetti westerns, and Georgia O’Keeffe. Her visual vocabulary pulls from experiences in today’s West – both her upbringing on a rural cattle ranch and her time in glittering cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco.

For the genre bending artist, influences are wide ranging. From the big, high desert expanses of her childhood, to her time modeling for brands like Stetson, Levi’s, and Harley Davidson, Teichert’s own journey feels like a sun drenched, cinematic trip.

Teichert shows Western subject matter in traditional and contemporary spaces that support artists with a foot in two worlds. Exhibitions include San Francisco’s de Young Museum, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, the West Coast Biennial, and Coors Young Guns.

Alaska Airlines acquired her piece Outerlands in 2018. It welcomes visitors to San Francisco International Airport Terminal 2.
