Press inquiries

Feel free to reach out with interview requests and on camera opportunities. I’m on a mission to share Western art with more diverse audiences, so TV, radio, podcast, and print invitations are welcome.

As a fellow media pro, I know how tight deadlines can be, so I’ll do my best to provide background and imagery within the same day when possible.

  • Gina Teichert paints the myth of the American West with a nod to graphic novels, spaghetti westerns and Georgia O’Keeffe. In her new series The Ballad of Boot Hill, dynamic design meets juicy brushwork and pops of color in compositions that are at once flat and full of depth.

Teichert’s visual vocabulary pulls from her experiences in today’s West – both her upbringing on a rural cattle ranch and her time in glittering cities like Las Vegas and San Francisco. For the genre bending artist, influences are wide ranging. From the big, high desert expanses of her childhood, to her time modeling for brands like Stetson, Levi’s, and Harley Davidson, Teichert’s own journey feels like a sun drenched, cinematic trip.

Synthesizing her two seemingly disparate worlds has been a process in itself for the Great Basin born artist. Living in California, she met artists and collectors who were intrigued by the romance of stark desert landscapes and living an hour from town. In a city teeming with hungry creatives, the thing she thought she’d left behind was the very thing that made her stand out – a sense of place rooted in the still wild parts of the American West.

Today, Teichert shows in Western and contemporary spaces including the de Young Museum, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, and AT&T Park. Her piece, Outerlands, was acquired by Alaska Airlines in 2018 and welcomes visitors to San Francisco International Airport. Teichert studied painting at the Academy of Art San Francisco and served as a gallery guide at SFMOMA until early 2020.

  • As a writer Gina has interviewed country music legends like Garth Brooks and luminaries in art and design like Sarah Bahbah and Jonathan Adler. She engaged audiences of all ages as a docent at SFMOMA, and has spoken at events sponsored by the San Francisco Giants and Alaska Airlines. Gina appeared on ABC4’s morning show Good Things Utah in support of her appearance at the 99th annual Springville Museum Spring Salon.

  • At Ford Models, Gina worked with blue-chip brands in fashion, tech and the outdoors. Today, she is parlaying those skills into cross-channel collaborations that unite her art practice with creative agencies and brands who value human-centric storytelling over blank slate talent.
